Taking a swipe at filmmaker Karan Johar for his current comments, director Prakash Jha said there is no “intolerance” in the country & the society is strong. The 63-year-old helmer was here to promote his forthcoming movie Jai Gangaajal.

When asked about his take on the statement Karan made as regards intolerance, Prakash Jha said, “ Karan Johar had talked about his own state of mind and not the present state of the nation. Why should we worry concerning his state of mind? He just described his cerebral state & it is his right to express himself.”

Prakash Jha said he personally feels that “there is no condition like intolerance in the country”. ”Our civilization is strong and we have been respecting each other cultures & communities,” he added.

Karan Johar’s notorious remarks on intolerance, kicked up a storm with the assembly hitting out against the Narendra Modi government accusing it of hot freedom of expression and BJP dismissing the censure saying India is the most tolerant country. Wading into the intolerance contest, Karan Johar had said, “The talk regarding freedom of expression is the biggest joke I believe in the world. Democracy is the 2nd biggest joke I think.”
