When ex-flames, Ranbir Kapoor & Deepika Padukone were cast opposite each other in Imtiaz Ali's 'Tamasha', trade pundits were expecting enormous numbers at the box office.
While the movie collected a decent Rs 38 crore in the opening weekend, it's collection began to drop in the weekdays. The drop on its first Monday was over 50 % & the film's performance only descended with each passing day. In its second weekend, the movie raked in Rs 6.50 crore nett, which was 83% esser than what it had collected in its opening weekend. The collection now stands at Rs 106.18 crore global.

Ranbir   has seemingly returned Rs 10 crore to the producers of 'Tamasha', UTV & Sajid Nadiadwala, reported Miss Malini. 'Tamasha' was sold to the distributors at a extremely high price due to the golden pairing of Deepika & Ranbir. though the movie won critical acclaim, it failed to make the kind of money predictable out of it, thus making it an average grosser. To make the film more viable for the producers, rumours are abuzz that Ranbir has apparently returned Rs 10 crore as Deepika has returned Rs 5 crore so that the distributors don't endure high losses.
