In Sarbjit, a critical chapter will be missing. The movie centers around the efforts & struggle of Sarabjit’s sister to bring him back to his country & home. Dalbir Kaur sought help from every quarter to free her brother counting government officials & humanitarians on both sides of the border. She left no stone unturned, & even approached Salman Khan, since the superstar has a lot of fans across the border & she thought if he asked for her brother to be released, it would help his case.
In 2012, Dalbir, along with Sarabjit’s daughters, met Salman Khan on the sets of Dabangg 2. They requested the star to help them safe release for Sarabjit. Post the meeting, an emotional Salman Khan tweeted saying he felt bad for Sarabjit’s family & longed to launch his support for his release. He even launched an online campaign urging people to sign a appeal to free the incorrectly accused Indian. In an interview Dalbir claimed that Salman Khan was sincere about helping the family & was not just tweeting, but also offered the family emotional support till his release. He was the only actor who powerfully voiced his opinion on the matter.
An insider reveals that Salman Khan’s efforts to free Singh made news globally, will not be shown in the biopic. “The Salman Khan chapter being dropped maybe has something to do with Aishwarya Rai  playing Dalbir. There is no other cause to not include this important part in the movie. Salman & Aishwarya are not on talking terms, so it wouldn’t have been likely to even get them to face the camera jointly. In cases where two actors don’t want to shoot jointly, often these scenes are shot disjointedly but in this case, they had to be face-to-face, so the makers resolute not to include that incident in the movie.”
The spokesperson for Sarbjit confirm, “This is not part of the movie because the movie has to convey & show 23 years of Dalbir’s struggle and it’s not possible to show each incident.”
