You Remember the Filmfare Awards night of this year where Deepika Padukone in a red shimmery graceful gown walked up to the stage to accept her Best Actress trophy for Piku? Deepika read out a very emotional & tearjerking letter from her father to her. It made lots of choke, while others even had a tear or two in their eyes. Deepika Padukone also was unable to express the words without welling up. We were obviously touched & moved. It always is a great feeling to make your parents proud. So we sobbed with Deepika Padukone as well but currently we hear, those words were fraction of a book written by Sudha Menon and is called Legacy: Letters from well-known Parents to their Daughters. And she did not even care to say that on stage.
Shocked? We were also when we heard it. And all this while we thought it was Deepika Padukone’s gift to his successful daughter. It would have done extensively good if the actress had mentioned Menon on stage. How did we uncover this? Well, a similar letter with alike sentiment has gone viral wherein MD & CEO of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar is telling her daughter about how proud she is of her success. That’s when this big secret tumbled out. The book is a collection of letters written by renowned people to their daughters, teaching them life’s lessons. Prakash Padukone’s letter is part of that book too & is addresses to his daughters.
Not that we have any problem with the letter or its content, it absolutely was moving, but a little acknowledgement from her part would have done justice to the author.
