When Salman Convinced Katrina Kaif To Do This Film

 Both Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif share a very close bond with director Kabir Khan. But not lots of people know that Salman Khan was the one who convinced Katrina to sign Kabir's New York. In an conference with journalist Subhash K Jha, Kabir Khan exposed how he got to know Salman Khan better & how Salman convinced Katrina to do his movie New York. 

 Kabir said, "My true friendship with Salman Khan began through Katrina Kaif. I was planning New York & my producer Adi Chopra suggested I try Katrina for the female lead as she right the half-Indian half-Caucasian role. Katrina Kaif heard me out but must have been confused & zapped by what I had offered her.'' 

Kabir Khan further added, Katrina went back to Galaxy Apartments (where Salman Khan stays) & told him that this weird director had presented her this weird role. Salman Khan wanted to know who it was. while she told him it was some guy called Kabir   he remembered my meeting with him. He asked her about the movie I had offered her & then he advised her, 'Aankhein band kar ke haan bol do.' Salman Khan's endorsement at that that point of time meant a lot to me." "lots of years afterward we came together for Ek Tha Tiger & there was many of churning & debate on the sets between us. Here was this star with 15 blockbusters behind him being told what to do by a comparatively new director. Salman Khan wasn't used to taking instructions from directors. We would frequently argue. By the time we came to Blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan we had discovered a meeting ground & had become very close friends," Kabir Khan said.
